Discovery Science Place located at 308 North Broadway in Tyler now has an indoor observation hive for children to learn about the honey bee.   The project was a combined effort between Discovery Place in-house personnel and ETBA members.   Funding was by Texas Eastman Corporation.   Texas Eastman has funded two such projects with the ETBA in the past 2 years - one on their Nature Preserve in Longview and one at Stephen F. Austin University.

This project at Discovery Science Place will make the fascinating world of the honey bee available to thousands of children who tour the facility annually!  Discovery Place is available to individuals and to groups.   Call 903-533-8011 for visitors information.

The ETBA and Texas Eastman Corporation are interested in educating the general public concerning the roll of the honey bee in our environment as well as that of all forms of wild life.  We wish to instill an attitude in the community toward conservation and stewardship of our common environment.  Anyone who has an idea that could help us in this endeavor is welcome to contact the ETBA (see Contact Us).    Also, you may call Mike Childless (903-237-5082) of  Texas Eastman Corporation.
