Minutes of meeting of ETBA directors January 3, 2008:

President Joe Moench called the meeting to order.  The following were present:  Joe Moench, Stan Brantley, Dick Counts, Royce Pellam, Randy Bobo, Eddie Collins, Linda Pelham, Don Johnson, Gloria Harmon and J. Ethridge.

The results of survey that was distributed at the December meeting was discussed.   The present program committee is composed of Stan and MaryJo Brantley, Dick Counts, and Jim Lathem.  After discussing the survey results, Dick made motion that the program list be adopted, Royce seconded the motion, and the motion was approved.  It was pointed out that some of the items in ETBA's guide booklet may be outdated and it was suggested that consideration be given to reprinting.  No final decision was made.

Dick advised that the Texas Bee Association was encouraging each area association to have an appointed delegate and alternate for State Association meetings.  There are usually three meetings each year.  After discussion, J. made motion that Stan be appointed ETBA's delegate and Dick be appointed alternate, Linda seconded the motion, and the motion was approved.

It was suggested that the directors meet more frequently.  After discussion, Dick made motion that directors meet each month at 6 p.m., Linda seconded the motion, and the motion was approved.

Dick brought out that the Texas Association was also encouraging each regional organization to participate in the Honey Queen program.  A former queen has prepared a guide booklet outlining how the program is designed.  The first step is securing a chairperson for the program.  Dick to ask for a volunteer at the general meeting. 

Dick has one applicant for scholarship for his spring class.  His name is Joseph Bradley, and he is a brother to one of last spring's scholarship recipients.

The meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
